Haut Brion and its close neighbour La Mission Haut Brion are two of Bordeaux’s most iconic Chateaux and two of my all time favourites. They are very much a story of the Delmas family who since 1935 have been managing the winemaking at both properties. Both are without doubt first-growth quality, Haut Brion is majestic and delivers something extra and above all is a cerebral wine. La Mission demonstrates such amazing consistency and is perhaps a little more approachable when young with its sweeter fruit.

What is unique is that both produce outstanding white wines that are every bit as fine as their red counterparts only much more scarce each producing a little over 6,000 bottles per year on average. Haut Brion Blanc is the benchmark and for me it has the opulence and class of a great Montrachet. La Misssion Haut Brion Blanc was formally known as Laville Haut Brion until 2008 and from the 2009 vintage the wine is labelled as La Mission Haut Brion Blanc. Like its stable-mate, it is an extraordinary white Bordeaux showing richness and elegance.

We are pleased to offer a small selection of wines from both estates most in large formats including extremely rare Magnums of the white wines.
