1966 Vintage: General Appreciation |
The 1966’s did not match either the 59’s or 64’s in outright quality but especially in the case of the red wines they were stylish, supple, round and well-balanced. There was much to like about the 66’s and the best wines are still drinking now. |
Red Wines |
The reds were succulent and elegant with lively rich fruits with the best really harmonious and still drinking now though, they are a touch faded. |
White Wines |
This was a good vintage for the whites which were nicely perfumed with good fruits and acidy making them splendidly balanced. Some top wines have survived but they are difficult to find. |
