1980 Vintage: General Appreciation

The growing season was a little challenging in 1980 including a very cold June. The weather turned bright throughout August but in general this is a patchy vintage with many of the wines being light and not packing much punch. As always in Burgundy, there were one or two very good wines but in the main they are lackluster.
