The Domaine has historical links back to the mid 19th Century with the modern estate starting in the 1960’s with the marriage of Marie-France Merme to Henri Perrot-Minot. Their son Christophe started to work at the estate in 1993 and in 1995 started to manage the Domaine.
In 2000, Christophe acquired the 4.5ha estate of Domaine Pernin-Rossin augmenting the estate which now runs to 12.5ha and now makes 7 different Grand Crus, 14 Premier Crus and 5 Village wines. Someof these including the Chambertin and Chambertin Clos de Beze which are from purchased fruit though, Christophe manages and controls the harvests.
There are a number of old vine parcels some of which have vines that are over a 100 years old and considerable work is done in the vineyards where no chemical fertilisers or herbicides are used. This is an excellent source of deep, stylish wines that combine richness and elegance. I have had very good experiences with the Perrot-Minot wines and these were amongst the best overall t the tasting.
