The best vintages from the first couple of decades of the 20th Century were the following:
1906 – Considered one of the finest in this period and it seemed to be equally as good for the whites as the reds. I suspect there is little chance of finding anything from this vintage.
1911 – Seen as very similar to 1906 where the growing season was ideal though it seems to have been a classic vintage for the reds but no so for the whites.
1915 – Another vintage which had almost perfect growing season resulting in both a large crop and an early harvest and some good reds but the whites were not special.
1919 – The first vintage after WW1 was hailed as a great vintage for both reds and whites with some ripe, harmonious wines.
