1920 – The 1920’s were a good decade for Burgundy starting with 1920 which was a small and late harvest that produced some good reds. Whites were not particularly special.
1923 – In a similar way to 1920, it was a small harvest producing high quality reds and whites.
1926 – Perhaps this was a touch over-rated but the warm summer and small harvest provided some well thought of red wines.
1928 – Another hot summer and then followed by some hail reducing the harvest size but leaving some impressive reds and in general this was perhaps one of the greatest vintages for whites.
1929 – One of the great vintages for the Pinot Noir’s and pretty successful for Chardonnay too. This is one of Burgundy’s glories with ripe yet elegant and harmonious wines of considerable appeal.
